LADY: Female, 30–35. Cher in her 30s. Delighted by the power and trappings of stardom. Exhausted by the demands of a fully booked life. Excellent pop/rock voice. Role will be understudied.
STAR: Female, 45–55. Cher as we see her now. Has an excellent pop/rock voice. Role will be understudied.
SONNY BONO: Male, 35–45. Charming, funny, ambitious; capable of being controlling and manipulative. Excellent pop/rock voice. Role will be understudied.
GEORGIA HOLT / LUCILLE BALL: Female, 40–50. Cher’s mother; will also double as Lucille Ball. Excellent pop/rock voice. Role will be understudied.
BOB MACKIE / ROBERT ALTMAN: Male, 35–55. Eccentric fashion designer; will double as Robert Altman. Excellent comedic timing and a strong singing voice. Role will be understudied.
GREGG ALLMAN / JOHN SOUTHALL: Male, 25–40. Romantic relationship with Cher after Sonny; guitar playing is a plus. Excellent pop/rock voice. Role will be understudied.
