SEEKING

BABE: Female, 18–22. Cher at the early stage of her life. Fiercely independent but insecure about her looks and being “different,” challenged by dyslexia. Anxious to “get up and get out,” to sing, to dance, to act, to be somebody. Determined to be famous, drawn to Hollywood and the movies. Surrounded by women as a girl; eager for romantic encounters as a teen. Seeing Sonny for the first time is her “Romeo and Juliet moment.” Excellent pop/rock voice. Role will be understudied.

LADY: Female, 30–35. Cher in her 30s. Delighted by the power and trappings of stardom, exhausted by the demands of a fully booked life. Wears her fame and femininity with ease and aplomb. In the spotlight, she thrives; out of it, she pines for ordinary life. Excellent pop/rock voice. Role will be understudied.

STAR: Female, 45–55. Cher as we see her now. Has pushed through old fears and insecurities to try new things. Brings authenticity to music and acting; searching for love. Excellent pop/rock voice. Role will be understudied.

SONNY BONO: Male, 35–45. Charming, funny, ambitious, but capable of being controlling and manipulative. Both hero and villain. Excellent pop/rock voice. Role will be understudied.

GEORGIA HOLT / LUCILLE BALL: Female, 40–50. Cher’s mother. Gorgeous, talented and independent; not a cliché stage mother. Will also double as Lucille Ball. Excellent pop/rock voice. Role will be understudied.
