World-premiere play. The story of Oscar Wilde’s lover, Lord Alfred Douglas, struggling to reclaim his own identity. Forever linked to Wilde (and the notorious trials which led to Wilde’s imprisonment), Douglas – or “Bosie” – lived for nearly half a century after Wilde’s death in 1900. As World War II rages outside and his wife Olivia lies dying upstairs, Douglas displays unexpected depths of feelings and humor as he copes with marriage and the tragic fate of his only son. Eileen, an Irish nurse hired to take care of Douglas’s ailing wife, is oblivious to Bosie’s past and infamy, and offers a fresh take on his world.
