Story of Cristina, a dejected bourgeoisie woman coming to terms with her situation in life. She is married to Mauricio, whose flagrant displays of infidelity have devastated her. Encouraged by her mother to have an affair of her own, Cristina proceeds to fall in love with another man. Emotionally confused and vulnerable, she begins psychotherapy—only to have her therapist take advantage of her weakened state. This leads to a complete nervous breakdown. In the end, Cristina manages to reclaim the power that was being used against her, and rises up as the leader of her own destiny.
Note: The play is set in Mexico in the 1970’s.
