SEEKING

ETHNICALLY DIVERSE, Exceptional actors with solid voice and movement training adept at Shakespeare for casting in a fast paced 80 minute version. The play is set in a fictional island on the Pacific Rim. Think Moana meets Apocalypse Now. NON-TRADITIONAL, CROSS-GENDER CASTING.

PREPARATION

Prepare one two to three minute Shakespeare monologue. Bring picture and resume.

REHEARSALS: Begin Monday April 24, continuing weekday evenings (6:30-10:00), Saturdays and Sundays TBD. One rehearsal in Cadman Plaza Park on Friday evening, June 16.

PERFORMANCES INDOORS AT MCKINNEY CHAPEL: Opens Thurs. 5/25 at 8pm, then 5/26-27 at 8pm, 5/28 at 4pm, 6/1-3 at 8pm, 6/4 at 4pm, 6/8-9 at 8pm

PERFORMANCES IN CADMAN PLAZA PARK: 6/17 and 6/18 both at 6pm

OTHER

To be performed indoors in McKinney Chapel adjacent to First Unitarian Church (see audition location) and outdoors at the Brooklyn War Memorial in Cadman Plaza Park. Both venues are within a 5 minute walk of each other.

An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition.

BREAKDOWN

THREE WITCHES:
Male or Female, any age. Versatile actors who each play several roles. Must be adept at movement and able to perform Polynesian style dancing. Should read as island natives.

MACBETH:
A great warrior with ambition that turns into blood lust. Superstitious. Must be adept at stage combat. Any age.

LADY MACBETH:
An unscrupulous woman whose guilt ultimately destroys her. Any age.

DUNCAN:
A native king/queen. Male or Female. Old enough to have adult children.

BANQUO:
Soldier and supposed friend to Macbeth. Male. Old enough to have adult children.

ROSS:
Native confidant of Duncan and later foe to Macbeth. Male or female. Any age.

MACDUFF:
Native soldier. Must be adept at stage combat. Male. Any age.

MALCOLM:
Young native warrior. Son/daughter and heir to Duncan. Male or female.
