Please prepare a brief, contemporary, American comedic monologue.
Please bring a picture & resume, stapled back-to-back.
Intimate collection of stories; celebrates women’s resilience in loss and brilliance in love – as told through deeply poignant and often hilarious monologues, with a few ensemble riffs.
Show is currently cast and running. Seeking possible future replacements (all roles are women):
Female Understudy: One woman understudies all tracks listed below. Age is open. Actress should be funny, transformational and above all, imaginative. Especially seeking strong comediennes. These qualities are more important than the ages listed.
Gingy / Others: Especially seeking star names for this track. 60s - 70s. Incorrigible Jewish New Yorker. Rose from working-class roots to the Upper East Side, and then moved to New Jersey. Must deliver great humor and pathos equally, in a very dry manner.
Purse / Others: Especially seeking star names for this track. 50s. Warm and hysterically funny. Could be zaftig. A true comedienne.
Geralynn / Others: Especially seeking star names for this track. 40s. Requires a funny actress who also has strong dramatic abilities. The whole range.
Boots / Others: Especially seeking star names for this track. 30s. Aggressive, with an edgy humor. An alpha woman.
Youngster / Others: Especially seeking star names for this track. 20s. Sweet. Actress should be physically adept with comedy. Can be silly, possibly quirky.
