Actors may prepare a monologue (2 minutes or less) or read from sides, provided at the audition. Visually-impaired performers may request an advance copy of sides when making an audition appointment.

Miss Lowell: 20s. Secretary. Pert and professional.
Carleton Fitzgerald: 40s+. Director. A grand man of the theatre, every action filled with drama.
Frances Black: 30s-40s. Producer’s wife. Lower-class origins. Filled with vitality. Collects jewelry.
Owen Turner: 40s. Jaded playwright who has seen it all before.
Stella Livingston: 50s-60s. Mother of the star. A “handsome old hoodlum”.
Peter Sloan: 20s . Naïve playwright whose first play is opening.
Sidney Black: 40s-50s. Producer. Short man. A dynamo, a “one-purpose guy”. Always about money.
Irene Livingston: 30s. Star. “Exudes the ineffable essence of a great star of the stage”.
Tyler Rayburn: 30s+. Married to Irene. Comes from a wealthy family. A bit of a bore.
