Times: Dancers: 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Actors: 7pm to 8:30pm
Seeking: Actors & Dancers for:
Rich from Long Island: He is the main character in the play. This is his true life story concerning childhood sexual abuse & the cycles he went thru from the abuse. From victim to survivor which occurs through various therapy session scenes and song & dance scenes. This character is approx 40 yrs old. Actor should be approximately 5’8” – 5’10” tall and weigh approx 165 -175lbs (thin to medium build). Hair & eye color not important. No Beard or mustache. Wig would be worn if actor is bald. This is a very dynamic role. This role has a lot of dialogue. The actor must be able to sing & dance.
Gail:
Female, 30-45. Gail is the 2nd main character in the play. She is the therapist for Rich from L.I. This character is a little older than Rich from L.I. Actress must have an excellent clear stage voice and should have fit (in tone) build. Height should be 5’2” – 5’ 5”. Should be able to sing. Hair & eye color not important. This Role has a lot of dialogue.
Dancers 1 & 2:
22 – 28 years old. These two dancers have 2 very important large dance scenes. When not dancing they will be used as extras in some scenes. Both should be of approx. build, height and weight. The dancers should be able to perform an intense, heavy rock and role dance as well as a dance ballad. Dancers should be between 5’2” – 5’7” tall. Weight should be between 115 & 130. Should be able to sing.
No Good Therapist:
This character is in one scene & has a short dialogue. This is Rich from L.I.’s 1st therapist. Actor will be used as an extra in other scenes. Should be 5’5” – 5”7’ and weigh 125 – 170. Should be able to sing.
Grandma:
Female, 30-75. This character is in the opening scene which has a long dialogue & is also in a scene w/a short dialogue. Actor should be approximately 5’5” tall and weighing 120-170lbs. Hair and eye color not important. Should be able to sing. Actor will also be used as an extra in some scenes.
17 year old Rich:
Actor 18+ to play Rich from L.I. at age 17. Character is in some scenes – all non verbal - & is used in a major dance scene. Actor must be thin, 5’7” – 5’8”. No taller than Rich from L.I. This actor must be able to dance. (Must look younger than actor playing Rich from L.I.). Could be a beginner actor. Must be able to sing. Actor will be used as an extra in other scenes.
8 year old Rich:
This character is the small happy boy before he was abused. Small dialogue. Must be able to sing. Will be used as an extra in other scenes. The actor should be 5’4”- 5’5”. Weight and build commensurate w/size (thin & short).
