  • KING LEAR, male presenting, 40s–60s
  • GONERIL, female presenting, 20s–40s, eldest daughter, buttoned up
  • REGAN, female presenting, 20s–40s, more wild and wily than her sisters
  • CORDELIA, 20s, female presenting, bright and bold in her innocence. Role will double with FIRST SERVANT
  • GLOUCESTER, 50s–70s, male presenting, good natured but blinded by his pride
  • EDMUND, 20s–40s, any gender, a schemer, smarter than anyone onstage
  • EDGAR, 20s–40s, male presenting, the perfect son
  • KENT, 30s–50s, female presenting, hardened assistant to Lear, will disguise in male drag
  • ALBANY, 30s–50s, male presenting, unassuming at first then hardened by war
  • CORNWALL, 20s–40s, male presenting, a muscular typical leader. Role will also double with DOCTOR and FIRST GUARD
  • FOOL, any gender, silly but surprisingly wise. Role will also double with FRANCE and SECOND GUARD
  • OSWALD, male presenting, young and impetuous. Role will also double with BURGUNDY

PREPARATION

Please prepare a one-minute Shakespeare monologue. Please bring your headshot and resume stapled together.
