“HERE LIES LOVE” follows the lives of Imelda Romualdez Marcos and the woman who raised her, Estrella Cumpas, and their intertwining lives against the political backdrop of the Marcos’ rise to power and fortune in The Philippines. Set in the clubs of the rich and famous that Imelda loved and frequented, the piece follows a period of history from poor beginnings in the 1950’s to the 1980’s when Imelda and her family were forced to leave The Philippines and tells the story before the story we think we already know of the extravagance of her husband’s reign and the 2700 pairs of shoes.
