Strong singers, actors, and dancers for ALL ADULT ROLES in SOUND OF MUSIC, HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING, SLEEPING BEAUTY WAKES, PAINT YOUR WAGON.

Preparation
Please prepare a verse and a chorus of one contemporary musical theatre song and a verse and a chorus of one

Captain Von Trapp- Male. Baritone. A retired naval captain. Polished and disciplined. Underneath a warm, loving man.

Maria Rainer-Female. Soprano. A postulant at Nonnberg Abbey. She is young, free-spirited, warm and kind.

Mother Abbess- Female. Legit Soprano. Strong and with authority but warm.

Elsa Schrader-Female. Mezzo Soprano. Elegant and classy. She is dignified and sophisticated.

Max Detweiller-Male. Baritenor. A charming friend to the Von Trapps.

Herr Zeller-Male. Non-singing. A stern Nazi official.

Liesl-Female. Mezzo. Reads 16 years old. Must be a good dancer. The oldest of the children.

Frau Schmidt-Female. Non-singing. The stoic housekeeper.

Rolf-Male. Tenor. Reads 17 years old. Must be a good dancer. Liesl's suitor.

Franz-Male. Non-singing. Von Trapp butler. Loyal and formal, but with spirit.

HOW TO SUCCEED
J. Pierrepont Finch-Male.18-25 yrs old. Protagonist. An irrepressible, puckish-hero. He is a window washer who applies for a job at the World Wide Wicket Company and attempts to climb the 'ladder of success.' Range: C3-G4.

J.B. Biggley-Male. 50-65 yrs old. The stuffy, President of World Wide Wicket. He appears ruthless, but a college man at heart with a passion for knitting. Range: C3-A4.

Bud Frump-Male.18-21 yrs old. Biggley's scheming nephew. Range: C3 - F4.

Mr. Twimble/Wally Womper-Male. 55-70 yrs old. A fussy, old-fashioned, loyal employee. Range: D3-E4.

Bert Bratt-Male.30-50 yrs old. A upper-business level executive.

Rosemary Pilkington-Female. 20-30 yrs old. A secretary at the company. Very interested in finding a man, and becomes Finch's love interest. Range: A3 - B4.

Hedy La Rue-Female. 25-35 yrs old. A sexy, voluptuous woman adored by all. She appears dim-witted but is very cunning. Range: C4 - Eb5.

Miss Jones-Female. 50-65 yrs old. J.B.'s uptight secretary. She is abrupt and tough, but kind to some. Range: C3-A4.

Smitty-Female 30-40 yrs old. A secretary with a painfully dry sense of humor. She is cynical and looking for a husband. Ragne: A#3 - G5.

The Orderly/Groundskeeper's Son-Male. 20-35. Rose's love interest. Handsome. pop/rock baritone/tenor with strong falsetto

Leon-Male. 20s-40s, Patient at the clinic, tenor

Murray-Male. 30s-50s. Patient at the clinic. Baritone/Bass

Rose-Female. 20-30. Has been asleep for 900 years. Looking for an escape. rangy pop/rock alto/soprano with good belt

Cheryl-Female. 20s-30s. patient at the clinic. alto.

Hadara/Queen-Female. 40-60. patient at the clinic. soprano.

PAINT YOUR WAGON
Ben-Male. Bitter after his wife's death, Tennessee State senator retreats from the world and travels out west, determined to keep to himself. Marries Cayla. Gruff, country Baritone.

Jameson-Male. A Mormon man married to Cayla and Sarah. Treats his wives poorly.

Guang Li & Ming Li-Male.Chinese brothers who have traveled to America to make their fortune. Tenor & Baritone.

H. Ford-Male. African-American. A fast-talking, extremely entrepreneurial free black man from New York City heads out west, determined to make his fortune. He is a wanderer by nature, suspicious of all others since most people have let him down. Baritone.

Armando-Male. Came from a well-to-do, well-educated Mexican farming family who were mostly killed when prospectors and looters took their fifteen thousand acres from them. Befriends Ben Rumson. Dramatic tenor.

Theo-Male. Has travelled from Greece to seek his fortune out west. Has a big heart and will do anything for a friend. Baritone.

William-Male. Irish, fun-loving, although not the brightest of young men. Tenor.

Cayla-Female. Married to Jameson who treats her badly. Is sold to Ben who she marries and falls for. Pop Country Mezzo.

Wesley-Male. African-American. Jake’s half-brother, has been a house slave and seen little of the world until he is forced to travel out west with Jake. Contemporary Baritenor.

Jenny-Female. Ben’s 18 year old daughter who was shipped away to school by Ben. She appears to be very lady-like and proper but in actuality has a very spunky/sassy even irreverent sense of the world. Contemporary Mezzo.

Craig-an innocent, gullible 16 year kid from Pennsylvania whose parents tragically die of cholera on the journey out west. Tenor.

Jake-Male. a driven, manipulative second son of a well-to-do Charleston family goes out west and brings his slave, Wesley, who is also his half-brother. Baritenor or tenor.
