Seeking
Male actors for a Jerry Herman revue and Shakespeare's LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST. Also seeking female actors as possible replacements for pre-cast roles. See Breakdown for details.

A breakdown has been added for this notice.

Preparation
Prepare a Shakespeare monologue (2 minutes or less) and a song in the style of Jerry Herman. Have contrasting song ready, if asked. Bring sheet music in the correct key; an accompanist will be provided, but may not transpose. Please bring a photo and resume, stapled back-to-back.

Other

Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to attend.

Always bring your Equity Membership Card to auditions.


SEEKING: One male Equity actor to perform in Love’s Labour’s Lost and Showtune: Celebrating the Words and Music of Jerry Herman. Also seeking Equity female actors as possible replacements.

Rehearsals begin May 22nd. Showtune opens June 22nd. Love’s Labour’s…opens June 29th. Both shows run Fri., Sat., Sun. and close July 21st


LOVE’S LABOUR’S LOST: by William Shakespeare

BOYET (Male 30’s- 50’s) Lord attendant to the Princess of France. Pessimistic voice of reason.

SHOWTUNE: Celebrating the Words and Music of Jerry Herman: Music and lyrics by Jerry Herman. Book by Paul Gilger

MAN (30’S – 50’S) Baritone or Bari-Tenor.

THE FOLLOWING ROLES ARE CAST - seeking possible replacements only

HOLOFERNES (already cast – female 40’s-50’s) Pedantic professor. Full of hot air.

WOMAN #2 (already cast) Sassy personality with humor, in prime of life (30s) Alto/Soprano: Low F sharp - C sharp, with high belt. Some Soprano singing.

KING OF NAVARRE (Male 30’s-40’s) Scholar who has forsworn all earthly pleasures (especially women) in favor of his studies.
