Concerns the men and women who bravely embodied the American spirit during the dark days of the Great Depression by building what was then the tallest structure in the world, the Empire State Building.
Seeking (all roles are available):
Michael Shaw:
25-35. Handsome, starry-eyed architect hired to build the Empire State Building in record time. Takes on politicians, deadlines and a nosy but beautiful reporter, Hilda. Excellent baritenor.
Hilda Roberts:
25-35. Beautiful. Driven journalist who believes in the good of the people over industrialist folly. Dead set on derailing the project. Strong belt and soprano.
Gladys Goodheart:
35-45. The fast-talking, don’t-mess-with-me contractor. Successful woman in a man’s world. Comedic skills a plus. Strong belt.
Sam/Samantha Peterson:
20s. Woman who disguises herself as a male construction worker to help build the Empire State Building. Performer must be an excellent dancer. Mezzo with belt.
