Eslanda “Essie” Robeson:

African American, 40s-50s, wife of Paul Robeson, scientist, civil rights activist and author. Glamorous, brilliant, hurt by her husband's infidelity but unwilling to leave him. Their blacklisting puts additional stress on their marriage.
