Please prepare one contemporary monologue or 32 bars of a song in the pop/rock musical genre. Bring sheet music in correct key; accompanist provided but may not transpose.

Please bring a picture and resume, STAPLED TOGETHER.

ALL ACTORS MUST BE ABLE TO WRESTLE.

[MACEDONIO ‘MACE’ GUERRA] Late 20’s-early 30’s. A Puerto-Rican professional wrestler. Good at what he does. Somewhat undersized, but still fit. Our hero. Must have a feel for language/hip-hop rhythms.

[CHAD DEITY] Early 30’s-mid 40’s. African-American, champion of THE Wrestling. Confident, charismatic, handsome, with a tremendous physique. Not a very good wrestler.

[VIGNESHWAR ‘VP’ PADUAR] Late 20’s-early 30’s. An Indian-American Brooklynite. Charismatic, natural, effortless. Must have a feel for language/hip-hop rhythms.

[JOE JABRONI] late 20’s-late 30’s, a skilled, non-descript professional wrestler. Also plays BILLY HEARTLAND and OLD GLORY.

A Christmas Carol

Scrooge , an old miser who learns how to keep Christmas in his heart with help from a ghostly intervention. No singing, language skills a must

Bob Cratchitt - Scrooge’s clerk, good hearted and mild. Must be able to hold stage during a long speech and work well with kids. Group singing. Provides much of the heart of the show. 35 - 45

Fred – Good hearted and joyful. Good language skills. Brief solo. 25-35

Marley – The ghost of Scrooge’s old partner. Died 7 yrs before start of play. Presumably near Scrooge’s age. 50 – 60. Good physical actor with strong presence.

Past – The First Ghost Scrooge meets on his journey. Supernatural and strange. Dubious, hard to pin down. Can make quick switches from rage to mercy to mischief. Needs to be a physical actor. Can be male or female. No age but must be able to climb.

Present – The second Ghost Scrooge meets. Large and imposing. Jovial but also capable of righteous anger. Sings a solo at the top of Act 2. No age but traditionally played by an actor in their forties or fifties.

Mr Fezziwig – Comic and lovable boss in Scrooge’s past. A great song and Dance man and/or physical comedian who can hold an audience’s attention and affection. 40 – 50 years old.

Mrs. Fezziwig – Comic and loveable wife of Mr. Fezziwig. Sings a patter song. 40 -50 years old.

Young Scrooge – Scrooge as a young man. When we first see him he is awkward and sweet, reveling in the Fezziwig activities. Years later we see him begin to harden and grow cold. Must be good with language. 20 – 30’s

Belle – Briefly engaged to young Scrooge. Pure and sweet. Able to tell Scrooge the truth about himself in the break up scene. Must be good with language. 20’s – 30’s.

Mrs. Cratchitt – Bob’s long suffering wife. Has the strength to keep a large family together in rough economic times. Good with kids. Group singing. 35 - 45

Fred’s Wife – Fun and loving. Sing a brief solo. 25 - 35

Other roles that are doubled include : Topper, Old Joe, Charitable gentlemen, Laundress, and Dick Wilkins

Tinkerbell: Woman aged 18 to 30. Must be extremely strong singer/actress. A very precocious and jealous Fairy belonging to Peter.

Hook: Male aged 40 to 65, extremely strong actor and singer. Charismatic leader of the Pirates and Peter's nemesis.

Smee: Male age 40 to 65. extremely strong actor/singer. Hook's "right hand" man.

Pirates: Men ages 35 to 65. All pirates are past their prime, broken down, weathered. All pirates should be extremely strong actor/singers.

Mami Wata/Adult Wendy: Woman aged 25 to 45. Mami Wata is a Mermaid leader--strong, beautiful, sensual and powerful. Doubles with Adult Wendy: Tender but strong, mother to Jane, Peter's former companion. She should be tall, extremely fit and a "tour de force" actress/singer.

Water Women: 4 Women ages 20 to 40, tall, strong, very fit. Must be extremely strong singer/dancers.

Tree Women: 5 Women ages 20 to 40, tall, strong, very fit. Must be extremely strong singer/dancers.

Dallas Theater Center maintains a resident acting company. When casting productions, DTC looks first to the Dianne and Hal Brierly Resident Acting Company to fill roles. DTC also maintains a relationship with Meadows School of the Arts at SMU and Booker T Washington High School for the Visual and Performing Arts. As part of this relationship DTC often casts students from these programs in main stage productions.
