SEEKING:

[CHARLES CONDOMINE] ROLE IS CAST. 30s-40s; Baritone.
A witty, charming, British novelist who invites a medium to his house as research for a new book. He is intelligent, skeptical, and often sarcastic. Charles finds himself in a comically nightmarish situation when the spirit of his first wife is accidentally summoned. Excellent comedic skills with an understanding of Coward-ian style.

[ELVIRA CONDOMINE] 30s; Mezzo-soprano.
Charles’s glamorous, flirtatious, and mischievous first wife, now a ghost. Elvira is thrilled to return from the afterlife and stir up trouble in Charles’s current marriage. She’s playful, manipulative, and devilishly comedic with an excellent understanding of Coward-ian style British comedy.

[RUTH CONDOMINE] ROLE IS CAST. 30s-40s; Mezzo-soprano/Alto.
Charles’s second wife. Practical, no-nonsense, and proper. Ruth is initially skeptical of the supernatural but quickly becomes exasperated and jealous once Elvira's ghost enters their lives. Excellent comedic and dramatic skills with a facility for Coward-ian style British comedy.

[MADAME ARCATI] 50+; Mezzo/contralto.
An eccentric medium who genuinely believes in her craft. She’s hearty, enthusiastic, and totally unselfconscious. Her séance inadvertently brings Elvira back from the dead. Excellent comedic skills and an understanding of Coward-ian style British comedy.

[DR. GEORGE BRADMAN] 40s-60s; Baritone/tenor.
A sensible local doctor and friend of the Condomines. Skeptical of the occult and Madame Arcati. Excellent comedic skills and an understanding of Coward-ian style British comedy.

[MRS. VIOLET BRADMAN] 40s-60s; Mezzo-soprano.
George’s excitable, easily flustered wife. She’s highly curious and a bit nervous, particularly about the séance. Excellent comedic skills and an understanding of Coward-ian style British comedy.

[EDITH] 20s-30s; Soprano.
The Condomines’ nervous and somewhat clumsy maid. Excellent comedic skills, comfortable with physical comedy, and a facility for Coward-ian style British comedy.
