Please prepare a 2 minute contemporary monologue. Please bring a photo and resume stapled back to back, and your Equity Membership Card to Audition.

BREAKDOWN

Setting:
A hotel near Santa Fe, New Mexico. Modern day.

Seeking:

FELIX
Male, late 20s/early 40s*, half African-American and half Jewish. Content with his life, doesn't react well to change. Breadwinner of the family. Insecure. Loving and passionate.
*=Actor must be able to play both ages during the play.
ROLE CAST


JACKSON
Male, late 20s, any race/ethnicity. Sincere. Worked his way from a difficult beginning to a better life without losing his spark. Trying to find his place in his realtionship and the world. Caring almost to a fault.
ROLE CAST

LINDA
Female, 50s, African-American. Has been through the ringer and come out with a lot of love left to give. A teacher and caregiver, both professionally and personally. Strong. Steadfast. Stubborn.
ROLE CAST


RUDY
Male, 70s/early 80s, Jewish. On the downswing of life, but with his sense of humor still very much in tact. Frustrated with his deteriorating situation. A loose cannon, but largely charming, with a tendency to wax poetic.
