In this small cast version, most, if not all actors will play an instrument, but which instrument and character tracks are fluid. Seeking guitar, bass, drums, piano, trumpet, saxophone, and trombone artists.
Please list any and all instruments you play and proficiency with them, union status, if you've done the show before along with whom you played and where, and any reels you may have readily available. Sides will be provided if necessary after submission is received.

Buddy – The Buddy Holly StoryBuddy Holly - singer-songwriter star from Lubbock, TX. Intelligent, charismatic, to play under 25. Must play guitar, sing and act, and have a feel for rock n’ roll. Ethnicity: All Ethnicities. (Role is Cast)

Joe B. Mauldin – Double bass player from Lubbock, TX. Serious, square man with musical ability. Must be able to sing and act. Ethnicities: All Ethnicities.

Jerry Allison – Drummer from Lubbock, TX. Cheeky sense of humor. Must be able to play, act, and sing. Ethnicity: All Ethnicities.

Niki – the fourth Cricket; plays guitar and has the showmanship to match the rest of his band. Ethnicity: All Ethnicities.

Vi - Plays the piano onstage, has a good heart and sense of humor. Married to Norman Petty. Ethnicity: All Ethnicities.

Ritchie Valens – Seriously charismatic with an eye for the ladies. His key song is “La Bamba.” Must be able to act, with the ability to play an instrument an advantage. Ethnicity: Latino/Hispanic.

Hipockets/Decca Producer/Norman/Apollo DJ/Murray Deutch/Big Bopper - Character actor to play multiple big personalities, from Hipockets Duncan, the exuberant radio DJ with an air of authority, to larger-than-life radio personality The Big Bopper. If submitting, please send “Chantilly Lace.” Ethnicity: Caucasian.

Maria Elena Santiago – A young woman working as a receptionist at the music publisher’s office. Spunky, smart, and not intimidated by the Crickets though she is shocked at who they are once they reveal their identity. She is of Puerto-Rican descent. Ethnicity: Latina/Hispanic

Tyrone – Charismatic and enthusiastic announcer at the Apollo Theatre. His key song is “Shout.” Ethnicity: African American
