Guvnor:

AVAILABLE ROLE. 40s-50s. Talker/storyteller/joke-teller with frenetic energy.

Andy Green:

AVAILABLE ROLE. 30s - mid 40s. Bouncer. Physically imposing. Has a heart under a tough exterior. Working-class. Sees the world through the violent lens of his experience. Actor may also play the role of Man.

Robert Greenwood:

AVAILABLE ROLE. 50s. Physically substantial, not well-preserved, a drinker. Carries a sense of loss, as he had a daughter who was killed — she would be 27 years old now. A man of a quiet, understated disposition – smart and logical – with an element of danger and mystery; contemplating just what he might be capable of. Actor may also play the role of Man.

Angela Davies:

AVAILABLE ROLE. 20s. Prostitute. Indistinguishable age (says she’s 19, but he guesses 29). A haunted, hollow beauty, chewed away by years of self-hatred, self-abuse. Smart in her way, and blunt; independent. By turns cold and hard, sexy and flirtatious.

Girl:

AVAILABLE ROLE. Seeking an actress 18+ (or emancipated minor) to play age 15. Character is entrenched in rave culture. Sexy, vibrant. Quotes a Yeats poem.

The following roles are cast. Auditioning performers will be considered as possible replacements, should any become necessary.

Jimmy MacNeill:

CAST. Middle-aged cab driver. Affable, but rough around the edges. Guarded.

Clare MacNeill:

CAST. 40s. Jimmy’s wife. Tough exterior masking deep wounds. Has pieced a life back together after much loss, but has a tenuous hold on happiness.

Enthusiastic Young Man:

CAST. 30s. In love with the world, and fascinated by everything in it.

Richard Wright:

CAST. Scottish, 30s-40s. Questioning his life as an engineer on the Underground. A talker. Positive in spirit, but in mid-life crisis. Contemplating doing a sketchy drop-job instead. Funny, open, has no trouble speaking his mind.

Billy Lee:

CAST. 20s-30s. Reforming fascist. Slightly off-kilter – has been involved in violence – but has a surprising tender side.

Janine Williams / Woman:

CAST. Middle-aged. Smartly dressed former teacher. Manic depressive.
