Breakdown

Seeking the following roles and understudies:

WAITER
Male. Italian. L40s to L60s. Authentically Italian, he is the waiter of a family owned Italian restaurant - the father of another waiter - he is good humored and not very bright which makes him funny. Must speak Italian.

ROBERT understudy
Male. British. M30s-40s. Emma’s husband. An attractive and charismatic publisher who is capable of manipulation. Aware that his wife has been having an affair with his best friend for years, he eventually uses this knowledge against them. He is an intellectual and a realist. Authentic British accent preferred. May also understudy the WAITER.

JERRY understudy
Male. British. M30’s-40s. A successful writer, he is inherently romantic and naïve. Far more insecure and less confident than his best friend, Robert. His love of being in love leads him to having an affair with Emma for years. Jerry’s innocence and naiveté prevent him from seeing that he is in the midst of a cruel game of manipulation. Authentic British accent preferred.

EMMA understudy
Female. British. M30’s-40’s. Robert’s wife. She is an attractive, intelligent and professional woman who owns an art gallery. Naïve, youthful and innocent at the beginning of the affair, she becomes a haunted and bitter woman who tries to justify and rationalize herself by the end. Authentic British accent preferred.
