BREAKDOWN

SEEKING:

Constanze (Stanzi) Weber- Female, 20-25, any ethnicity. Mozart’s wife. Weber loves and supports her husband. She is often silly, cavalier and juvenile; she is also responsible and practical and even willing to sacrifice herself for her husband. NOTE: Actors of color are strongly encouraged to submit.

Joseph II- Male, early 40’s, any ethnicity. Emperor of Austria. Joseph II enjoys and supports Mozart’s music but is ultimately persuaded by Salieri and others at court to cut him off. He is droll and disengaged. NOTE: Actors of color are strongly encouraged to submit.

Count Franz Orsini-Rosenberg-(actors auditioning for this role will also be considered for the roles of Count Von Strack, Baron Van Swieten, Kapellmeister Bono) Males, any ethnicity, 50-late 60's. Court officials. Stiff, cultivated, officious, and supercilious. We are looking for a variety of shapes and sizes for these roles. NOTE: Actors of color are strongly encouraged to submit.

Two “Venticelli”- Males, mid 20’s, any ethnicity. Gossips who work for Salieri and provide him with information on Mozart’s private affairs. They are busy-bodies who always want to be first with the news. NOTE: Actors of color are strongly encouraged to submit.
