10 AM - 6 PM both days. New York City

Lunch from 1:30 – 2:30.

Please prepare a monologue (2 minutes or less), preferably from Tennessee Williams.

Please bring a photo and resume, stapled back-to-back.

Seeking (all roles and understudy positions are available unless otherwise specified):

Eunice Hubbell:

Character is a Caucasian or Latina woman, late 20s-40. Working class. Strong, no-nonsense. Next-door neighbor.

Steve Hubbell:

Character is a Caucasian man, 30s-50s. Strong, working-class.

Mexican Woman:

Character is Latina, 40s. Earthy. Actor must be able to sing/chant in Spanish.

Pablo Gonzalez:

Character is Latino, 25-55. Card player. Working-class man with a hot temper.

Young Collector:

Seeking actor 18+ to play a teenager. Character is a person of color. Sensitive/soulful. Also seeking Understudy for this role.

Nurse:

Character is an African American or Latina woman, 30s-40s. Actor in this role will understudy Blanche and Stella.

Doctor:

Character can be any ethnicity, 50s-60s. Elegant.

Neighbor Woman:

Character is African American or Latina, 40s-50s. Large, with a great laugh. Role may include some blues/jazz singing.

Stanley / Mitch / Pablo / Steve / Doctor (Understudy):

African American, late 30s-40s.

Eunice / Mexican Woman / Neighbor Woman / Nurse (Understudy):

Latina, late 20s-40. Actor must be able to sing/chant in Spanish.

The following roles are cast. Auditioning performers will be considered as understudies (see tracks above) and/or as possible (emergency) replacements:

Stanley:

CAST. African American character, late 30s-40s. Sexy, strong, virile leading man-type. Working-class.

Blanche:

CAST. African American character, late 30s-40s. Fragile, deeply troubled, walking the edge between madness and sanity.

Stella:

CAST. Character is African American or person of color, late 20s-late 30s. Blanche’s sister. Passionate, earthy, in stark contrast to Blanche’s fragility.

Mitch:

CAST. Character is African American, late 30s-40s. Strong, working-class man. Gruff, a physically imposing guy, but with a tender heart.
