Seeking (all roles are available (i.e. not yet offered and accepted):
John Hudson:
Mid - late 50s. A former radical, now turned highly successful Wall Street financier. Urbane to the extreme. Very much in control of every situation he’s in, including besting the Eastern European businessmen who now make up most of his clientele. Never brings his work home, a venue where he is free to be seen as a true lover of life: European vacations, his wine collection, fine dining and the art of good conversation. Smart and humorous and a good guy, he is in charge of everything – save, perhaps, his marriage.
Natalie Schiff-Hudson:
Mid - late 50s. John’s striking girlfriend from their days at Berkeley, now his wife of 30 years. Honored documentarian whose films focus on the underprivileged, both in the U. S. and in such places as Rwanda; beginning to question the political effectiveness of her craft. Despite her wealth and her husband’s Wall Street successes, a profound sense of doubt has reached into other areas of her life. Also seeking Natalie Understudy.
Elliot Murphy:
Mid - late 50s. AIDS activist from Los Angeles. Old friend of John and Natalie’s from their days in college. Single, gay man who describes himself to potential dates as “a practicing Marxist”; remains devoted to the causes they all once believed in – perhaps to the detriment of his own personal life. He’s a man whose activism, intelligence and penchant for fundraising have been channeled into a more mainstream life.
Mark Colvin:
Late 20s - early 30s. Not long out of Wharton, and recently recruited to New York by John’s firm from London, where he was with Goldman Sachs. Strapping. Sometimes earnest. Highly intelligent. Devoting his life to his advancement on Wall Street. Right now, that means at John’s firm, and he is eager to impress. The fact that he is gay is – he thinks – well masked by his career ambitions. Also seeking Mark Understudy.
John / Elliot Understudy:
