Equity singing actors, men and women.
This is a high style, English romantic farce, set in the Edwardian era. The piece requires trained actors who sing beautifully and have GREAT COMIC SKILLS.

The style of the score is completely legit; a hybrid between CANDIDE, NIGHT MUSIC and Gilbert and Sullivan.

ALL THE D’YSQUITHS: CAST (Jefferson Mays)
MONTY NAVARRO (late 20’s – mid 40’s) Handsome and effortlessly charming, clever and charismatic, vulnerable and endearing, with a highly developed appreciation for life’s ironies. Monty is the engine of the plot; must be able to command attention and draw the audience in. High Baritone with a strong top; solid low A to high A.
Females:
SIBELLA: CAST; Lisa O’Hare
PHOEBE (20’s – 30’s) Beautiful, virtuous, forthright, romantic, comically earnest, with a backbone of steel. Actress must have a sense of irony and humor. Coloratura soprano to a high sustained B, very flexible and agile, B below middle C on the bottom.
MISS SHINGLE (late 40’s- mid 60’s): A cockney housekeeper/governess who has served a wealthy, titled family for 30 years. She informs Monty that he is indeed a D’ysquith. Confident character voice. Excellent vocal technique is not necessary. Should be comfortable with music hall style singing.
THERE IS AN ENSEMBLE OF SIX, ALL OF WHOM PLAY VARIOUS IMPORTANT ROLES THROUGHOUT THE EVENING, AND SOLO SINGING IS REQUIRED BY ALL.
Female Ensemble:
WOMAN # 1 (late 40’s- mid 50’s) Plays Tour Guide, Pub Owners Wife, Mrs. Pebworth, 3rd Newsboy. Seeking a character woman. Covers Miss Shingle. Mezzo Soprano, G to high A.
WOMAN # 2 (late 30’s-40’s) Plays Lady Eugenia, an unhappily married countess. Overbearing and mean spirited. Must be adept at the biting quip and the withering glance. Also plays Miss Hetherington, and 4th Newsboy. Low F# to high A
WOMAN # 3 (late 20’s- mid 30’s)Plays Miss Barley, an alluring artist model. Also plays Sibella’s Maid, Hyacinth Colleague, Phoebes Maid, Hilda. Covers Sibella and Phoebe.
G to high C.
Male Ensemble:
MAN # 1 (late 20’s-late 30’s) Appealing and attractive. Plays Tom Copley (aka Farmer), 2nd Clerk, Hyacinth Colleague, 2nd Newsboy, Actor, Ancestral Bust, Dr. Pettibone and Guard. High Baritone with a strong top; solid low A to high A. This actor will cover Monty.
MAN # 2 (mid 40’s – early 50’s) A versatile and appealing character man. Plays 1st Clerk, Pub Owner, Mr. Cross, 1st Newsboy, 1st Actor, Physician, 2nd Ancestral Bust, and Detective Pinckey. The Detective has a featured number. Bass, low C to high G#. This actor will cover Jefferson Mays.
MAN # 3 (late 30’s – mid 40’s) A character man. Plays Tour Guide, Mr. Goodsall, Actor, Mr. Gorby and the Magistrate. The Magistrate has a featured number with the Detective. True tenor. B flat to high B flat.
