The festival will run April 9–11, 2026.
Rapid Fire Theatre will return with BONFIRE FESTIVAL 2026, a three-day showcase of original, high-energy live performance running April 9–11, 2026.
Featuring a mix of improv, experimental formats, and genre-bending comedy, BONFIRE highlights the creativity and risk-taking of Rapid Fire Theatre's ensemble. From competitive improv battles to musical adaptations, surreal character work to late-night endurance chaos, this year's lineup pushes the boundaries of what live theatre can be.
Festival Lineup
Thursday, April 9 | 7:00 PM
The Punchline Up – A high-stakes elimination showdown where improvisers battle for the ultimate punchline, and the audience crowns the King of Comedy.
4 People 20 Questions – Four improvisers, twenty mind-bending questions, and an unpredictable journey through strange insights and snack-fuelled revelations.
Wake Up Edmonton with Diane and Gordie (in the Evening) – A nostalgic, chaotic late-night morning show packed with local guests, ridiculous games, and unmistakably platonic chemistry.
Friday, April 10 | 7:00 PM
Pearly Gates – Characters at the end of their lives face divine judgment (from God herself) in a comedic exploration of heaven, hell, and audience influence.
My Brother's Improv Troupe – A debut performance inspired by UCB-style improv, bringing alt-comedy energy and fast-paced, suggestion-driven scenes.
Alone Together – A bold experiment in solo improv, where performers face the stage alone in one of improv's most challenging formats.
Friday, April 10 | 9:30 PM
Collector's Edition – Watch the improvised rise (and possible fall) of a brand-new comic book hero destined for blockbuster fame.
Movie! The Musical – Your favourite films transformed on the spot into fully improvised Broadway-style musicals.
Saturday, April 11 | 7:00 PM
P.S.A. – Public Service Announcements return with rap, theatrical flair, and surprisingly useful life advice.
Ocean's Sixty-Nine – A fast-paced improvised heist told in reverse, where performers must justify a plan that somehow always works… eventually.
Saturday, April 11 | 9:30 PM
Keeping Up with the Gremezians – Edmonton's own reality-TV dynasty takes centre stage in this improvised parody of fame, family, and confessionals.
RFT Cribs – A tour through an improviser's home inspires scenes shaped by their quirks, collections, and questionable decor choices.
Saturday, April 11 | 11:30 PM
Sex With Me (All Night Long) – A late-night endurance set built around a single suggestion, pushing improvisers (and audiences) into absurd, unpredictable territory.
