Bridget Ryan Returns To The Citadel

It's probably safe to say Bridget Ryan is a morning person. After all, the former Breakfast Television 'remote host' had to get up early for more than 15 years to deliver fascinating stories for Edmontonians to devour along with their cereal.

This month, Ryan returns to her cabaret roots to explore those 15 wacky, unpredictable and extremely hilarious years working as a morning television host in her new show, Oh, What A Beautiful Morning! The first show in the Citadel Theatre's Beyond the Stage series of 2018/19, Oh, What A Beautiful Morning! gives its audience a behind-the-scenes look at society's obsession with TV and social media, while Ryan shares the inside scoop on the dozens of interesting characters she has met through her illustrious career.

Ryan received a BFA at the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music and is a graduate of the MacEwan University Theatre Arts program. She began performing at the Citadel Theatre in the late 1980s, in teen festival shows such as Stewart Lemoine's Teens and Togas and Prom Night Of The Living Dead. In 2001, she played Kit Kat Girl Texas in the Citadel's production of Cabaret, in addition to roles in Hamlet and A Christmas Carol. Ryan has previously starred in three cabaret shows at the Citadel Theatre, the first of which took place in 2014.

A fusion of story-telling through music and multi-media, Oh, What A Beautiful Morning! will make you laugh, think, and reminisce about what television was like before Netflix arrived on the scene.
