Town Hall Arts Center Stages Sarah Ruhl's THE CLEAN HOUSE, Now thru 2/1

By:

The next production in Town Hall Arts Center's 2014-2015 Season will be The Clean House, written by Sarah Ruhl. The play won the 2004 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize, awarded annually to the best English-language play written by a woman, and was a Pulitzer Prize finalist. The Clean House is directed by Robert Wells, recently at Town Hall directing the 2014-2015 opening production of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.

Featured in this production and making her debut at Town Hall is Viviane Rinaldi. Viviane is a Brazilian born actress playing the role of Matilde. Charla Mason Kelly returns to Town Hall Arts Center as Lane. Charla was most recently seen at Town Hall in the 2011 production of The Wizard of Oz. LuAnn Buckstein is back as Virginia. LuAnn played Miss Hannigan in Town Hall's production of Annie last season. Also returning to the Town Hall stage are Nita Froelich as Ana and Daymond Caylo as Charles.

The play is a romantic comedy centered on a Brazilian cleaning woman who would rather be a comedian. The Clean House takes place in "metaphysical Connecticut," mostly in the home of a married couple who are both doctors. They have hired a housekeeper named Matilde, an aspiring comedian who's more interested in coming up with the perfect joke than in house-cleaning. This theatrical and wildly funny play is a whimsical and poignant look at class, comedy and the true nature of love.

Town Hall's production of The Clean House opens tonight, January 9, 2015 and runs through Sunday, February 1, 2015. Show times are Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. (& 2:00 p.m. on 1/17) & Sundays at 2 p.m. (& 6:30 p.m. on 1/25 and 12:30 p.m. on 2/1).

Reserved seat tickets are currently on sale, priced $23.00-$42.00 at the Town Hall Arts Center box office, 303-794-2787 ext. 5 (Monday - Friday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., 1 Hour prior to Shows) or on-line at www.TownHallArtsCenter.org. In a continuing effort to make plays at Town Hall Arts Center accessible to all, ten value seats at $10 each will be made available on a first-come-first-served basis one-hour prior to each published curtain time.
