The new Hurst Theatre is the setting for the upcoming season, celebrating the organization's thirtieth anniversary. The summer opens with a new production of Alain Boubil and Claude-Michel Schönberg's LES MISERABLES, based on the novel by Victor Hugo, with music by Schönberg and lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer. The multiple Tony Award-winner opens June 21st.

Mark Martino will direct and choreograph LES MISERABLES with music direction handled by Eric Alsford. Martino won the Carbonell Award for Best Director for his production of Crazy For You at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre and is nominated for Best Director for this year's Music Man. A TA favorite, Martino's successes include Avenue Q, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and The Little Shop of Horrors. Scenic and lighting designs are by Paul Black, with costumes by Nicole Harrison. Season sound designer is David Thomas. Production Stage Manager is Vernon Willet.

Fully Committed, by Becky Mode, is a one-man tour-de-force comedy, which will be directed by Emmy-winner Jay Sandrich. The one act opens July 5th and has been one of the most-produced shows all over the world, and will feature an as-yet-to-be-cast actor who will also appear in LES MISERABLES. Sets and lights designed by Paul Black, with sound by Brian Ronan, and costumes by Annabel Reader.

TA offers the family musical You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown (book, music and lyrics by Clark M. Gesner, with additional music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa), opening July 11th. This will be the revised version, directed on Broadway by Michael Mayer, who also contributed to the new script. Artistic Director Paige Price will direct, with choreography by Broadway veteran JoAnn M. Hunter. The musical features a wide variety of musical styles and while the book targets young audiences, the sharp writing and sophisticated lyrics will appeal to grownups as well. R. Thomas Ward designs sets, Paul Black lighting, and Rebecca Bernstein will design the costumes for the production.

The theatre was recently named "Non Profit of the Year" by the Aspen Chamber Resort Association.

Productions take place in the new Hurst Theatre in Rio Grande Park and will be underwritten by season sponsor ANB Bank, with the generous support of Darlynn and Tom Fellman, Liz and Jane Armstrong, Soledad and Bob Hurst, Jim and Brenda Grusecki, Charles and Nancy Wall, Mandy Gray and Randy Work, Joshua & CO., Kristin Nelson, Dan and Maureen Holman, Betsy Fifield, SHANE Realty, Jackie and Jerry Kehle, The City of Aspen, The Aspen Club and Spa, Les Dames d'Aspen, CCI and The Thrift Shop.
