The American Association of Naturopathic Physicians to Host Family Wellness Event, Today
The American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP) is set to launch a series of health fairs as part of its mission to help increase the quality of life for millions of Americans seeking integrated methods of care, wellness services, and natural health care products.
The first of these health fairs will take place at the Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort in Salt Lake City, on the heels of the AANP's 31st Annual Convention & Exhibition. The health fair will showcase vendors from the local Salt Lake area interested in reaching families and individuals looking for wellness products and services.
The event: "Fun and Wellness for the Whole Family - A Health Fair for the Public" will take place Saturday, July 30, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and includes family-friendly activities that focus on health and wellness. Included in activities are guided trail runs, family yoga sessions, a live cooking demonstration with nutritional tips, guided wildflower tours, and educational talks by experts in the field. Families who register will receive All-Day Activity Passes to all Snowbird activities at a discounted rate of $36.00 per person.
Short educational talks, given by licensed naturopathic physicians (NDs) from all over the country, will include topics such as stress, leaky gut, cancer prevention, pediatric care, dermatology, and nutrition. Exhibitors will be present to showcase products and services focused on improving health and nutrition. Absolute MMA, a Utah-based mixed martial arts gym, will exhibit at the fair. They will provide health and fitness tips for all ages and fitness levels and will showcase their classes. Absolute MMA's owner, Rob Handley, will have samples of nutritional products, such as protein shakes, for attendees to taste.
Ryan Cliche, the AANP executive director, stated, "We are thrilled to host our inaugural public health fair at Snowbird this year. Fun and Wellness for the Whole Family is unique in that it is all about helping families take charge of their health in a fun and integrative way. Now, more than ever, people are eager to find natural methods for curing their ailments and preventing illness and this is the premier event that will meet these increasing demands."
