Shadow is pleased to bring back Shadow Theatre Company's inaugural production. In our new beginings we go back to the past to bring Innocent Thoughts back to Shadow written by William Downs.

IN SEARCH OF ECKSTINE: A LOVE STORY by Jeffrey Nickelson & Hugo Jon Sayles

Written by Jeffrey Nickelson and Hugo Jon Sayles We bring the sultry sounds of Billy Eckstine surrounded by a wonderful love story.

SWEET CORNER SYMPHONY by Hugo Jon Sayles & Jeffrey Nickelson
April 7 - May 22, 2011*

Another orignal creation from the playwritng duo Nickelson and Sayles fetures the smooth Doo Wop Acapella sounds of the 60's, opens April 7. We promise you will want to sing along!

Shadow Theatre Youth Ensemble (Shadow Original Production)
SANKOFA

August 5 - August 20, 2011*

The Shadow Theatre Company Youth Ensemble is a unique summer program, designed for young people who believe that their own self expression is their greatest gift. Classes, taught by local theatre professionals and other artists, will engage the young people in the many facets of live performance, as well as provide them with information on strategies for realizing their long term artistic goals. Classes and workshops will incorporate acting, orchestral music, dance, singing, production, stage production, sound, writing, personal reflection, and creative movement, and will culminate in a show written by the young performing artists in collaboration with a professional playwright. Under the masterful direction of Hugo Jon Sayles, our summer youth program promises to bring you "edutainment" at its best.

Nina SimonE TRIBUTE by Hugo Jon Sayles
November 4 - December 12, 2010*

In addition to our season prductions, Shadow Theatre Company brings a new, original staging in tribute to the life of Nina Simone, and the rich artistic legacy of this musical icon.

Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30pm
Saturday matinees are at 3pm
Sunday performances at 6pm

About Shadow Theatre Company
Founded by Artistic Director Jeffrey Nickelson in 1997, Shadow Theatre Company has produced more than 50 shows and in 2008 moved into a new state of the Art Theatre in Aurora. Shadow has received countless awards including the Denver Mayors Award for Excellence in the Arts, the Aurora Chamber 2009 Business for the Arts award and numerous Denver Post Ovation Awards.

Our mission is to develop cultural awareness through theatre and to provide an understanding, respect and appreciation of our history and culture as expressed from the heart of the human condition.
Shadow Theatre Company consistently seeks to provide a vehicle of artistic expression for Colorado's indigenous actors, artists, and writers that will be non-exclusive to any and all cultural communities and take responsibility for educating children through an "edutainment" format designed to empower youth by promoting positive peer influence witha primary focus on African-American and Latino youth.
