Patrick Sheridan, Host And Emerging Filmmakers Project Director Passes Away

The Bug Theatre and The Emerging Filmmakers Project have announced the passing of Patrick Sheridan, longtime host and Executive Director of the Emerging Filmmakers Project and The Film Acting Academy of Denver, following a long and difficult struggle with pancreatic cancer. Sheridan passed just after 8:00 PM on Thursday, February 1, 2018.

In addition to his work at The Bug Theatre, The Emerging Filmmakers Project and the Film Acting Academy of Denver, Patrick has worked on more than 30 motion picture projects, including short movies, documentaries and feature-length films in Washington, D.C., Vancouver, B.C., and Denver, CO. He was a respected script analyst and local script doctor, as well as a much sought-after screenwriting, filmmaking and acting teacher. He had optioned two feature-length scripts and had several other scripts currently 'under consideration' or 'in development' with various production companies.

A Go Fund Me Fundraiser has been set up to help raise funds for final expenses and to assist his two sons, Elliot and Finnegan, and their mother, Diana. As of 11:00 AM on February 4, more than $8,380 has been raised by 91 people in just two days.

Said Eileen Agosta on the Go Fund Me Page, "Patrick impacted thousands of lives in his short time here on Earth. He was a man who gave of himself to anyone and everyone he met, whether they were one of his students, a fellow filmmaker, or just a friend in need. A gifted writer and filmmaker, a teacher and mentor to many, and a dedicated father to his sons, there's simply no way to calculate the number of lives that have been impacted for the better simply by having him in it."

Sheridan's funeral and service will be Thursday, February 8 at 11:30 AM at Mount Olivet in Wheat Ridge, located at 12801 West 44th Avenue. The service is open to the public and there will be a gathering at the Bug Theatre following the service. The Bug Theatre is located at 3654 Navajo Street in Denver. A formal celebration of life and memorial will follow at The Bug Theater, details and information TBD.
