Northglenn Youth Theatre Honored by NYA

The D.L. Parsons Theatre has announced that National Youth Arts (NYA) has honored the theatre's resident youth theatre company-the nationally acclaimed and award-winning Northglenn Youth Theatre (NYT)- with numerous awards and nominations for the 2013/2014 Season. NYA awards honor outstanding work by youth in the arts. This year more than 400 productions were considered for the awards, including shows from more than 130 different theatres in more than 60 cities spanning 12 states.

NYT 's recognition includes:

Lead Actor in a Musical: Collin Hill as Shrek in Shrek the Musical
Lead Actress in a Musical: Zoe Miller as Princess Fiona in Shrek the Musical
Supporting Actor in a Musical: Joseph Sanford as Donkey in Shrek the Musical
Supporting Actor in a Musical: Isaac Sprague as Lord Farquaad in Shrek the Musical
Outstanding Ensemble: Shrek the Musical

Nominations:
Outstanding Production: Shrek the Musical
Lead Actor in a Musical: Collin Hill as Aslan in Narnia
Lead Actress in a Musical: Samantha Cage as White Witch in Narnia
Supporting Actress (Junior Division): Ella Galaty as Gingy in Shrek the Musical
Supporting Actress (Junior Division): Natalie Orsborn as Lucy Pevensie in Narnia
Set Design: Christopher M. Waller for Shrek the Musical
Direction: Kimberly Jongejan for Shrek the Musical

The awards will be presented at a ceremony in the Valley Youth Theatre in Phoenix, AZ on Wednesday, September 7, 2014.

NYT is a nationally recognized dynamic theatrical experience for children ages 8-18 operating since 1994. The D.L. Parsons Theatre is a 300-seat venue owned and operated by the City of Northglenn located ½ mile south of 120th Ave. and Grant St. in Northglenn.
