Broadway actor Nicholas Rodriguez, who starred in the title role of the Broadway musical TARZAN, will perform at Theatre Aspen's benefit gala on February 26th at the Hotel Jerome. Rodriguez appeared in 'Sex and The City 2' and was in the cast of the soap opera 'One Life to Live,' as well as the musical THE TEN COMMANDMENTS, at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles.

Theatre Aspen's winter gala is the not-for-profit's most important fundraising event, raising money for an extensive year-round education program and an award-winning summer repertory theatre. This year's theme is 'Rock the Casbah' - a Moroccan-themed event to highlight the theatre's move into a new performance tent, which will be unveiled this summer. The evening will feature dinner, a live band, silent and live auctions, games and dancing.

Rodriguez has played Jesus, Moses and Tarzan, but also carves out time to work with young performers, as part of the faculty of the Broadway Dreams Foundation. He has traveled all over the U.S. to teach young Broadway hopefuls the craft of acting and singing.

Theatre Aspen was awarded the "Outstanding Regional Theatre" Henry Award in Denver in 2009.

Single tickets for Theatre Aspen's Rock the Casbah Benefit are tax-deductible. For further information contact Director of Development Beth Levin at 970-925-9313 x7. or www.theatreaspen.org.
