DiNK Indie Comics & Art Expo Announces John Leguizamo Image

Screen actor, creator, and writer John Leguizamo will join DiNK Denver for a surprise fan experience in support of his eisner nominated graphic novel -and HBO series - Ghetto Klown. The Independent comics and art expo (DiNK) will take place Saturday, April 14 -15 at the McNichols Civic Center Building.

DiNK special guest John Leguizamo has a storied career in the arts. Known for his work the spans a plethora of mediums from his award winning stage shows, to hit movies as Super Mario Brothers, Moulin Rouge, Romeo + Juliet, Spawn, Carlito's Way and as the voice of the sloth in the hit Disney series, Ice Age - his acclaimed graphic novels, Freak and Ghetto Klown, are perhaps the most indicative of his depth and reach as an artist.

The perfect match for the independent comic convention, Leguizamo will be leaving his celebrity hat behind and will be appearing amongst his peers in support of his Eisner award-winning graphic novel. And in step with its somewhat punk-rock approach to the convention scene, DiNK will be kicking the traditional green-screen photo and a 5-second handshake, out the door.

Instead, fans will have a chance to meet with Leguizamo through a series of upgraded meet and greet opportunities, panel discussions and yes... selfie sessions! Additionally, through a continued partnership with Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Denver, guests will also have the chance to attend a private movie and Q&A (yet to be announced) with Leguizamo after the DiNKy Awards on Saturday night. Tickets for this DiNK related event are sold separately.

Keeping in line with the DiNK diversity mission, Leguizamo is known for exploring Latino culture and will be one of many names represented from around the world at the two-day exposition. An award-winning event, DiNK earned a reputation early on for its keen focus on comics, independent and underground arts, and it's creators.

Upgraded ticket opportunities will be available for attendees who have already purchased tickets to DiNK along with add-ons ranging from a private 30 person meet and greet, selfie sessions, and movie night at the Alamo. For more information about DiNK check out www.dinkdenver.com.
