The Denver Office of Cultural Affairs (DOCA), in partnership with the Western States Arts Federation (WESTAF), will present the inaugural Denver Music Summit on December 9 and 10. The summit will provide metro-Denver musicians opportunities for professional growth and feature a kick-off concert to highlight and celebrate Denver's vibrant music scene.
Most musicians know that just being a good songwriter, talented musician, or having an engaging personality is rarely enough to translate to musical success. Musicians must be more than just musicians: They must be entrepreneurs, marketers, managers, negotiators and more. They must be musicians and industry professionals. Few resources exist to help musicians navigate the industry, and most have little time to develop these vital additional skills. The Denver Music Summit is here to help.
The inaugural Denver Music Summit schedule is as follows:
Summit Kick-off Party
This celebratory bash will feature performances by some of Denver's best artists in classical, jazz, hip-hop and rock. A precursor to the next day's summit, the kick-off party will include performances by the Lamont School of Music's Playground Ensemble, internationally renowned jazz artist Ron Miles, local hip-hop luminaries Mane Rok, DeeJay Tense and Prime Element, Fingers of the Sun and more!
Thursday, Dec. 9, Doors at 8:00 p.m., Showtime at 8:30 p.m.
