Creede Repertory Theatre Makes Denver Area Debut at Arvada Center

By:

Award-winning Creede Repertory Theatre makes its Denver area debut at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities with The Ladies Man, October 5-31, 2010, in the Arvada Center's Black Box Theater.

"We included Creede Repertory Theatre as part of the Arvada Center's 2010-2011 theater subscription series because it was a natural alignment between two of Colorado's most respected theater organizations," said Gene Sobczak, executive director of the Arvada Center.

"We could not be more delighted at the opportunity to bring The Ladies Man to the Front Range," said Maurice LaMee, executive and artistic director of the Creede Repertory Theatre. "It's a privilege to partner with the Arvada Center, an arts organization highly regarded for its loyal and discerning patrons, as well as its emphatic dedication to artistic excellence."

The Ladies Man, an adaption of the play, Tailleur Pour Dames, is a comical French farce that combines a fast-paced dialogue with zany and hilarious antics. The play, written by Charles Moray and directed by Nagle Jackson, was one of seven productions in repertory this past summer at the historic opera and movie house in Creede, located about 265 miles southwest
of Denver.

The inclusion of Creede Repertory Theatre in its expanded 2010-2011 subscription series represents one of several developments the Arvada Center has recently introduced to its theater operations. Discussions are underway for Arvada Center theater to present three of its produced musicals at the new Lone Tree Arts Center, beginning in 2011. Additionally, the Arvada Center is presenting The Diviners, a production by PHAMALY, (the Physically Handicapped Actors and Musical Artists League) on February 24-27, 2011, following the play's run at the Aurora Fox Arts Center.
