YAMN returns to Boulder to Headline the Fox Theatre

By:

In quick fashion, YAMN continues to take their vision of live performance to new heights and they plan to unveil new material and a larger light show at all of their numerous shows throughout Colorado and the United States in 2011. Fresh off their Mid-West tour in February and a recent headlining performance at the famed Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom in Denver, the band is ready for what the rest of 2011 has in store for them. Hungry concert goers will be able to find Yamn at the Fox Theatre in Boulder, CO on Saturday May 21st with their good friends and local Boulder band, Hot Soup.

Born of Breckenridge, CO, in 2007, and currently residing in Denver, CO, YAMN has been re-arranging their live performances to fit their good-natured Colorado spirit since day one. Once dubbed by a writer as "progressive-electro-trance-fusion with Colorado Jam Rock enthusiasm," it's quite difficult to fit this band into a box that is labeled. They are explorers of not just sound, but sight and creativity, leading fans through a chase of sonic themes and into a night of both head banging and dancing.

Brian Hamilton leads the charge on guitars and vocals, executing timely riffs with enthusiastic vocals. All of the guys pitch in on vocals, creating a chorus that layers well with the rhythm section made up of bassist David Duart and drummer Adam Ebensberger. Ryan Ebarb's work on the keyboards and guitar is often gritty, yet at times as eloquent as the elite of organists. Ebensberger and Duart are the wheels of a sound that seems to capture a road trip, with the other half steering via calling melodies that hint at Electronica, Rock, Funk and everything else on the list of genre. Not to be forgotten is the fifth member of the band: a stage show and lighting rig that will intoxicate the eyes.

For four years Colorado has been dancing away nights to Yamn's sound, and with more and more high profile shows popping up on their tour dates, new fans will be able to experience and discover this rising force of Rock n' Roll.
