Carmen at Wilmington Concert Opera / Opera Fresca

Carmen by Georges Bizet, with libretto by Henri Meilhac and Ludovic Halévy, is presented in a collaboration between Wilmington Concert Opera and Philadelphia-based Opera Fresca as part of WCO's tenth anniversary season Strong Women. The semi-staged production is performed in the original French with sung recitative and English supertitles, with two weekends of performances: the first at Covenant Community Services in Wilmington, Delaware, and the second at St. Alban's in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania. The cast features Kirsten C. Kunkle as Carmen, Chris Lorge as Don José, Kevin Patrick as Escamillo, and Bethann Dilione as Micaëla, with music direction by Connor Fluharty and stage direction by Kevin Patrick.
