The Possum Point Players Affiliate Possum Juniors are almost ready for opening curtain on their summer musical "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!"  The show runs July 21, 22 and 23 at 7 PM and July 24 at 2 PM. Possum Point Players to Present A RAISIN IN THE SUN

When Possum Point Players produce the drama, "A Raisin in the Sun," they bring to the stage a play that has won many awards from Drama Critic's Award for Best Play of the Year in 1959 to the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play in 2014. At 29, the playwright, the late Lorraine Hansberry, was the youngest American and the only black dramatist ever to win the Best Play of the Year Award. The play was praised as being groundbreaking and changing American theatre forever.

National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Chairman Jane Chu announced 64 awards totaling $4.3 million supporting projects across the nation through the NEA's Our Town program. Wilmington Renaissance Corporation is one of the recommended organizations for an award of $75,000 to support Creative District Wilmington's Vacant to Vibrant: Pocket Parks and Passages.
