About LINDA GARWOOD DANCE INSTRUCTOR
Tango is a scocial dance originated from the streets and salons of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Specifically, Tango is traced back to African music and dance, which were brought to Argentina by Black slaves from Africa. Early twentieth century, European immigrants, mainly Italians, Spaniards, French and Germans, influenced the styles of Tango to which we are accustomed today.
Unlike other social dances, danced by a couple, Tango is characterized as a dance of improvisation based on mutual communication between two partners moving as one. It also involves a great deal of concentration, creativity and precision of each dancer.
