This is our annual production of the classic Charles Dickens story of Ebenezer Scrooge. In addition to a cash donation for admission, we will accept donations of toys, canned goods and food to benefit families in need in our area this holiday season. A Christmas Carol performs Friday, December 8th at 7 pm, Saturday, December 9th at 11 am, 2 pm and 7 pm.at the Hilliard Civic and Cultural Arts Center, 5425 Center St, Hilliard, OH, OH 43026.
Columbus Children's Theatre Wins Stand For The Arts Award

Ovation, America's only arts network, has partnered with Spectrum for the inaugural Ovation+Spectrum Stand for the ArtsAwards initiative. As part of the partnership, Ovation will contribute $60,000 to support local arts, cultural, and educational organizations in six Spectrum markets: New York City, Los Angeles, Austin, Columbus, Syracuse, and Raleigh. The announcement was made by John Malkin, Executive Vice President, Content Distribution, Ovation and Adam Falk, Senior Vice President, Government Affairs, Spectrum.

MadLab's world premiere production of Kitezh by Jennifer Feather Youngblood will take place Fridays and Saturdays, Dec. 1 - 16, 2017, with a special preview performance on Thursday, Nov. 30, at MadLab, 227 N. 3rd St., in Columbus. A leading figure among pops conductors across the country, Chafetz brings experience and innovation to his new role leading the Columbus Symphony in its year-round pops concert series. Through the 2018-19 season, he will design programs with enjoyable repertoire for widely diverse audiences and invite both well-known and rising guest artists for the CSO's Pops Series, as well as its two outdoor summer concert series at the Columbus Commons, Picnic with the Pops and the family-friendly Popcorn Pops.

Opera Columbus, Against the Grain Theatre and Banff Centre Seek Members for Virtual Chorus Extravaganza

Opera Columbus, along with co-producers Against the Grain Theatre in Toronto, Ontario and Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Banff, Alberta are developing Christoph Willibald Gluck's most famous work, Orph e et Eurydice (Berlioz version). Premiering in 1762, the opera was in the vanguard, changing the way that the musical form was experienced. Opera Columbus' interpretation of the piece while staying true to the music and feel of the Baroque original -- will place the work firmly in the 21st century with new electronic orchestration, baroque burlesque dancers, sopranos singing from silks, and aerial dancers. Most importantly, the co-producers are seeking singers of all types who are interested in becoming part of the production's virtual chorus.

The most famous reindeer of all from the longest-running and highest-rated holiday television special of all time will make its Columbus debut in the critically acclaimed Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical. Rudolph and a holly jolly cast of iconic characters, including Hermey the Elf, Yukon Cornelius, and the Abominable Snow Monster, will help Santa save Christmas during a two-day-only engagement of the national tour. This family favorite is a holiday staple (The Boston Globe) and an 'utterly charming, top-notch production' (Orlando Sentinel), and will present four performances at the Palace Theatre December 16 and 17.
