Ohio Artists Gathering presents RAPID TRANSIT, Directed by Broadway's Mike Faist

Ohio Artists Gathering, under the direction of Tony Award nominee and Grammy Award winner and Columbus native Mike Faist, (Dear Evan Hansen) will partner with Short North Stage on Friday, March 16th, from 8:00-10:30 PM, for an awareness building and development event titled 'Rapid Transit,' introducing Ohio natives working on Broadway and beyond, and featuring a performance by Public the Band. A special pre-event reception will be held from 7:00-8:00 for donors and sponsors to meet Mr. Faist and other OAG artists.

MINDFUL MUSIC MOMENTS Makes Central Ohio Debut at Pickerington Elementary

On January 16, Pickerington Elementary became the first central Ohio school to implement Mindful Music Moments, a daily mindfulness and classical music program that promotes student focus. Backed by the Columbus Symphony, with additional support from CAPA and Opera Columbus, 460 students in grades K-6 listen to four minutes of recorded classical music and relaxation prompts at the start of each school day during morning announcements.

The 2018 Theatre Roundtable Awards was held on January 28th at the Jewish Community Center in Columbus, Ohio. This evening included the presentation of the prestigious 'Harold' Awards, given for exception commitment to Central Ohio Theatre. There was production awards recognizing outstanding performers, directors, designers, and productions for the previous year! Last but certainly not least, our special guests from the Central Ohio Theatre Critics' Circle presented their annual citations.

The irrepressible Sister teaches an adult catechism class to a roomful of students (the audience). Over the course of the play, Sister goes from benevolent instructor, rewarding the students for correct answers with glow-in-the-dark rosaries and laminated saint cards, to authoritative drill sergeant. These abrupt mood swings are bound to strike a resonant chord with everyone who survived the ups and downs of going to a school with an omniscient authoritarian at the helm.
