Shadowbox Selects Troupes for Sketch Fest 7/20, 7/21

This July, prepare to chuckle, chortle, snicker and guffaw because Shadowbox is presenting its second annual Sketch Comedy Festival. The event will take place over two nights, Tuesday, July 20th and Wednesday, July 21st and will feature seven troupes from around the country going head-to-head in this outrageous, American Idol-style competition.

"We made some format changes to this year's event," commented Shadowbox Executive Producer Stev Guyer. "This time around the audience is going to vote on the best sketches and the best troupe!"

All seven troupes will perform on Tuesday night before a panel of judges, which will include original Saturday Night Live cast member, Garrett Morris. The audience will then be asked to vote on the best material from each troupe.
The selected sketches will be performed on Wednesday night and the audience will vote once again to determine which troupe is the best.

Filling out Wednesday's show will be cameo performances by Garrett Morris, sketch comedy from the Shadowbox ensemble, and live music from Shadowbox house band BillWho?.

The Shadowbox Sketch Comedy Festival is presented by The Revolution

The Revolution presents the 2nd annual Shadowbox Sketch Comedy Festival! Seven troupes from around the country go head-to-head in an American Idol style competition hosted by Shadowbox and original SNL cast member Garrett Morris. The festival includes performances from each troupe, the Shadowbox ensemble, and Garrett Morris, as well as commentary from a panel of local celebrities.

Shadowbox is a performance troupe that self-produces a wide range of shows, performed Thursdays thru Sundays, year-round.

For over 20 years this creative force has produced world-class shows and has made a name for itself with its irreverent sketch comedy and rock ‘n' roll shows as well as its vibrant musical Theater Productions.

Shadowbox shows blend diverse elements such as comedy, theater, rock ‘n' roll, dance and video shorts into seamless, fast-paced, high-energy productions. This unique and often surprising entertainment experience is complimented by a bistro-style menu and full bar.
