Shadowbox Live Hits You With Their Best Shot with ROCK OF AGES
Shadowbox Live is gearing up for a nostalgic trip back to the '80s with the Broadway musical Rock of Ages, opening April 13th at the Brewery District theater.
In the age of glam rock, acid wash jeans, big hair, and spandex ruled. And the music defined a generation. "Rock of Ages is a jukebox musical," explains Executive Producer / Director Julie Klein. "It's filled with well-known classic rock from the era from Pat Benatar to Styx to Jouney to Bon Jovi."
Rock of Ages weaves the stories of Drew, a wanna-be rock star and Sherrie, a wanna-be actress with bar owners Dennis and Lonny. While Drew and Sherrie each search for fortune and fame, Dennis and Lonny find themselves caught up in an unwanted urban renovation that threatens their futures.
"The show is funny and the characters are over-the-top," continues Klein. "Additionally, you'll find yourself singing along with nearly every song!"
Klein also notes that Rock of Ages falls into Shadowbox Live's wheelhouse, combining a campy script with iconic rock songs. "Comedy and rock 'n' roll are what we do best and we can't wait to share this production with our fans!"
Rock of Ages opens Thursday, April 13th at 7:30pm and continues on Thursday, April 20th and select Sundays from April 23rd to August 27th. Tickets are $25 ($20 students, seniors, military). For more information and reservations visit www.shadowboxlive.org.
