Conductor Albert-George Schram and the Columbus Symphony invite divas of all ages to come and enjoy the Nationwide Insurance Popcorn Pops Broadway for Kids concert on Friday, July 19, at the Columbus Commons. This year's series has a new time, with gates now opening at 5pm and the concert beginning at 7pm. Popcorn Pops blends the fun of the outdoor concert experience with the excitement of a live orchestra performance in this series especially designed for younger children aged 3-12 and their families.

The Broadway for Kids program is filled with popular Broadway music that will be familiar to the young and the young-at-heart andincludes:

Willson/Hayman - "Seventy-Six Trombones" from THE MUSIC MAN

Berlin/Healey - A Tribute to Irving Berlin

arr. Frost - "If You're Happy and You Know It"

Elfman/Wasson - "Spiderman"

Menken/Troob - Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST Orchestral Suite

Casey/Custer - "Hand Jive" from GREASE

Sherman/Lowden - Mary Poppins from A DISNEY SUPER TIME

Rodgers/Bennett - Selections from THE SOUND OF MUSIC

Frost - "Boogie Walk"

Arlen/Tyzik - "Wizard of Oz"

arr. FROST - "Clap Your Hands"

Concert goers are encouraged to bring a blanket and lawn chairs, pack a picnic, and come early for pre-concert activities from 5-6:45pm. Activities include:

Columbus Museum of Art - Make a craft designed to match the concert theme.

Music and Arts Centers - Try a woodwind, brass, or percussion instrument.

Face Painting - Choose the design or create your own.

WeJoySing - Compose your own tune and rhythm with instruments.

Loft Violin Shop - Play a violin.
Jest Jugglers - Watch balls, scarves, and bowling pins madly flip and twirl.

Columbus Commons Fun Zone - Enjoy bounce houses and inflatable slides.

Suzuki Students - Listen to talented young musicians perform.

Gymboree - Enjoy music and movement with the famous parachute.

Très Bien Studios - Learn about the world through music and drama.

Premier Allergy - Spin the wheel of fun.

The 2013 Nationwide Insurance Popcorn Pops presents Broadway for Kids at the Columbus Bicentennial Pavilion in the Columbus Commons (160 S. High St.) on Friday, July 19. Gates open at 5pm. Concert begins at 7pm and runs for approximately one hour.

Tickets are $8 for both children and adults and can be purchased by phone at 614.228.8600, online at www.PicnicWithThePops.com or www.ticketmaster.com, or in person at the CAPA Ticket Center (39 E. State St.), central Ohio Kroger Ticketmaster locations, or central Ohio Graeter's locations. Tickets may also be purchased at the gate on the night of the show. Children 2 and under are free.
