Come be whisked through the outrageous universe of Gina and Drea, where two actresses play men and women struggling through the common rituals of modern life. With boundless humor, Parallel Lives reexamines the ongoing quest to find parity and love in a contest handicapped by the capricious gods-or in this case, goddesses. Parallel Lives, by Mo Gaffney and Kathy Najimy,is based on the stage show and HBO special by the same name. Written in sketch comedy style, this is Magnolia Theatre Company's debut production in Ohio. Dayton'a Most Metro called it "a playground of possibilities superbly inhabited by Gina Handy and Andrea Morales." Magnolia produces shows that have strong female characters, and Parallel Lives personifies this mission. Gina Handy, the star of Short North Stage's production of Sunset Blvd., is the founder of this company and will be starring in PARALLEL LIVES, along with Dayton actress Andrea Morales.
