On The Verge Productions will present the world premiere of High School Drama, Scott Tobin's semi-autobiographical play about the struggling relationship between a high school drama teacher and her husband. The show will be directed by Jason Sudy.

The play focuses on the character of Donny (portrayed by local stage veteran Stephen Woosley) who has been asked by his wife Lana (Vicki Andronis) to direct a high school production in the theater program that she runs. For Donny and Lana, the play, instead of bringing them closer together, shines a harsh spotlight on the issues they have tried for so long to ignore. Focusing this spotlight are two high school students in the theater program, Callie (Kelsey Dunkle) and Joel (Jeremiah Campana). Donny struggles in his relationships with the students as much as with his wife, leading all astray in his goal to keep the show and his life together.

Says author Scott Tobin, "I was inspired to write High School Drama based on several personal experiences I have had in which creating art has destroyed a strong partnership, be it best friends, spouses, or teacher and student." Scott completed the play during his playwriting residency at the Virginia Center for Creative Artists.

High School Drama will be performed on Thursday, March 25th (preview), and Fridays and Saturdays, March 26th, 27th, April 2nd, 3rd, and April 9th, and 10th in the Shedd Theater of the Columbus Performing Arts Center, 549 Franklin Ave. Columbus Ohio 43215. All shows at 8:00PM. Admission is $10.00 ($8.00 for preview on March 25th). For tickets and further info, call (614)949-5428 or visit www.onthevergeproductions.com
