Signature Theatre Bookstore Attendant - Signature Theatre

Signature Theatre, one of New York's leading Off-Broadway theatres seeks a Bookstore Attendant for The Pershing Square Signature Center on West 42nd Street. This part-time position is an integral part of the culture of Signature Theatre offered to the company’s subscribers and general audiences. The Bookstore Attendant should be friendly and knowledgeable about Signature Theatre programming and history, as well as the Bookstore’s books and merchandise. This position requires a motivated self-starter with demonstrated customer service experience. The Bookstore Attendant reports to the Lead Bookstore Representative and the Audience Services Manager.



This position requires a flexible schedule and generally includes evening shifts Tuesday - Sunday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday matinees, and holidays.



Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting in-person customers with inquires and purchases

• Maintaining and assuming responsibility for the visual aesthetic of the bookstore, including lifting and placing books and merchandise

• Inventory tracking and reordering

• Communicating informational messages to visitors

• Nightly reconciliations and deposits

• Opening and closing the retail space

• Assisting with special projects as needed



Candidates should have experience in retail, cash handling and possess exemplary customer service and communication skills. Computer literacy and knowledge of RPower or similar POS system is a plus.
