weAREproductions Presents SMOKEY THE BANDIT THE MUSICAL
Take a musical journey back to the '70's, when mustaches were big, high-speed chases were just around every corner, and Burt Reynolds was king. Smokey and the Bandit: The Musical brings the classic road comedy to the stage, featuring favorite toe-tappin', hand clappin' songs from the film's soundtrack, as well as some other country classics. The Bandit (Timmy Hart Barron) is on a mission: haul 400 cases of illegal beer from Texarkana, Texas, to Atlanta, Georgia, in under 28 hours. But his job gets a whole lot tougher when a hitchhiking bride (Ali Delianides) enters the picture and Sheriff Bufford T. Justice (Mark Hespen) puts the Bandit in his sights.

For the last three years, weAREproductions has been establishing a special brand of theatre. They brought the hits Fleetwood Macbeth, A Nightmare on Backstreet: A Boy Band Musical Parody, Maul Santa, Babysitter Massacre '78: The Musical, Dating Incorporated, and BATES: An 80's Psycho Musical Parody, in Chicago. A Nightmare on Backstreet received its first university run in the Fall of 2015, as well as an outdoor amphitheater run in Somerset, Kentucky, in the Fall of 2016.
This is currently weAREproductions last scheduled Chicago production, as the Production Company is moving to the Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati area, in the Summer of 2017.
