The Abbey Pub Frankie Gavin and Super Group DeDannan 11/14

The Abbey Pub (3420 W. Grace) is excited to announce that legendary Frankie Gavin and super group DeDannan will be playing their traditional Irish hits on our stage Monday, November 14th. Chicago's own talented Larry Nugent will be the opening act. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the show will begin at 8:00 p.m.

In establishing the new ‘De Dannan' in 2009, Frankie has assembled a group of fiercely talented performers who during the first performance as a band in the USA received a number of standing ovations at Sander's Theater at Harvard University, MA-and the first was before the intermission! Rob Fabroni, Producer of the ‘Last Waltz', who saw the band perform in the USA during their first tour in March 2009, summed up the thoughts of many in the hall: "this is the best incarnation of ‘De Dannan' I have ever witnessed and I believe I have seen them all...sensational".

'Electrifying' is an adjective that's too often used to describe certain performances but this is one instance where it's absolutely unavoidable. If you've never been lucky enough to see ‘Frankie Gavin & De Dannan' perform live, prepare to be... shocked.

Larry Nugent, a notable force in the Chicago Irish music scene has toured throughout the U.S, Europe, and Japan. He has performed with scores of musicians, including The Chieftains, Shane McGowan, Van Morrison, Séamus Connolly, Kevin Burke, Liz Carroll, Arty McGlynn, The Drovers, Martin Hayes, and Paddy Keenan.
